Risk & Compliance Manager

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, or related field
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other relevant compliance standards
  • Knowledge of risk management principles within the healthcare industry, including identifying and mitigating compliance risks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances

Responsibilities

  • The Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the business operates within the state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the healthcare business
  • Position is responsible for all Insurance Programming at current locations in VT and NY, with concentrated involvement and communications with Insurance Brokers and Policy Protections for the company
  • Collaborates with legal counsel, operations, and others to effectively address compliance and risk throughout the organization
  • Responsible for implementing policies and procedures, developing training programs, and auditing/monitoring compliance related matters, and serves as the company’s HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to uphold quality standards in healthcare and in employee programs
  • Ensure corrective actions are adequate and have been implemented for all identified compliance deficiencies
  • Ensure company billing programs are in compliance with federal and state law and are designed to prevent, detect, and correct any associated fraud, waste and/or abuse
  • Ensure that the Board of Directors, management, and employees are in compliance with the Federal and State rules and regulations
  • Work closely with leadership to develop, implement, and update compliance-related policies
  • Communicate policy changes effectively to ensure understanding and implementation
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Comply with all state, federal, and local reporting requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation systems and processes as needed to track, trend, and manage compliance notifications, issues, corrective action plans, audit results, etc
